More from my grandma (pic heavy)

Many of you saw this thread where she is with LBJ. Mamaw and LBJ Now here are some more gems from this fine lady. One fault that she had was that she was a perfectionist and fretted about everything. I inherited her vintage stereo with a reel to reel and turntable plus all her music. Here are some pics. The stereo dates back to the '61 I think.

And there is still more that I inherited. Most of it is sentimental but it all so cool. When I go out, I want to make sure that I leave my relatives some sort of legacy. She knew how much history and music meant to me so this is all awesome! Just wait until I post pictures some dating to the 1800s.

some awesome memories. I'm sorry for your loss but a tad envious of you for all the wonderful memories and memorabilia that you've inherited.

Looks like there's not a scratch on that beautiful piece of furnitur too!

It was one of her failings. I think she worried so much about the presentation of things that she rarely enjoyed them to the maximum extent possible.

Ours was not as elegant as your grandmother's and was battered in a houseful of kids. I remember the sliding door over the turntable and that it had three speeds because we loved to put an LP on it and run it at 78 RPM. Kids!

I just might have to do that. ;)

had the EXACT same stereo when I was growing up! How cool is that? My dad, who was in sales, won it in a contest. I have many, many memories of listening to that thing.

I know have it for its retro appeal. I am also having a blast playing all these old records. I just finished listening to Duke Ellington.
