My car requires 96 octane, minimum, to run smoothly, otherwise bad things happen, at least it did when I put regular in my car for the first few months I had it. Its not even what you would call an expensive sports car, its an 89 Celica Convertible, 5 speed. Even with the expensive gasoline, this car is efficient, about 35 mpg on average, with city driving.

Do you know the engine specs? I'd like to know the compression ratio.

The highest-octane pump gas you can get in Kollyforniya is 92. Someone told me once there's a few places you can get 94, but I've never seen one.

I know, the car kept on dying for a while, wouldn't accellerate, etc. So I asked my uncle, and he said that the car requires premium gasoline to run smoothly. It might be lower, like around 93 octane is probably the absolute minimum to run it smoothly, anytime I put in cheaper gas, I run into problems, they actually mention it in the freakin' user's manual. Next time I get a car, remind me to actually read that damned thing for anything other than looking at the fuse diagram. :)

varied grades of roadway on rural highways. Don't ask what my average speed was, but I ran from St. Louis, Missouri, to Springfield, MO in about 2 and a half hours. Yeah, I'm a little bit of a lead foot, but I made that run to visit a friend, was running late. On the way back home, 2 days later, I was able to go over 30 miles back home with the fuel light on, running on fumes and coasting "gravity assisted" as much as possible, I was low on cash at the time, won't do that ever again, but I made it home!

Corn syrup just does not taste the same. Japanese candy is far superior than domestic crap, primarily because of the use of real sugar.

They import it from Mexico, where its still made with sugar, and sell it for like $2 a bottle, but its gooooood stuff.

I also miss vinyl-coverd cardboard things, like Barbie cases and my old Barbie camper. They had a smell to them that I liked, and all that 70's artwork on them.

Dawn Dolls-anyone remember them? They were like little Barbies.

I don't miss metal tonka trucks. I got slammed in the face with one when I was about 2 (by another kid, not my parents). I've had nosebleeds ever since. It's a good thing probably that they make them out of plastic now.

I had the Dawn Doll Beauty Pageant, complete with stage and doll run-way. Wish I had kept it for my niece, as it would be worth some money today...

Found an ORGANIC version of Koogle at Trader Joe's of all places!

Koogle was a part of my childhood for a very brief period; maybe a year, at most, before it disappeared from the supermarket shelves and I never saw it again. I used to love that stuff! Flavored peanut butters! Chocolate, vanilla, and other flavors I can't remember. And it was as smooth and creamy as cake frosting. Probably terrible for you, but yummy! :9

Two small, delectable whoopie pies in cellophane wrapper. They weren't full of preservatives because they went bad in a few days. They were very chocolately and very delish!

Regionally, I picked up a bar of donkey's milk soap in Texas a few years ago. We used it and loved it!!! Have not been able to find a distributor here or online.

Bar-None has been on the tip of my tongue for weeks now, trying to figure out what those were called. I loved those things as a child.

Hasn't been around for years.

Of course, I don't really like sweet cereal anymore, so maybe I wouldn't like it after all these years.

It was a K-Mart exclusive, but when they filed Chapter 11 a few years ago, Nescafe discontinued the product. It was by far the best flavored coffee I have ever had, and I'm usually not partial to flavored coffee.

It always worked for me to clear my stuffy nose, but was taken off the shelves because it was a potential health risk for older women, though I'm not a woman, and am not that old yet. Nothing has worked well for me since - not even powerful prescriptions.

Crystal Cola, Jamaican Ginger Beer & a dozen other all-natural flavorful carbonated beverages.

Excellent for making pecan pie.

There was a factory near where I grew up and we used to go over there as kids with such begging faces and they would give us some! Also worked at the Coca-Cola bottling company.

Best of all was the box company where I could make my own "toys" out of them!

I was a HUGE fan of these when I was a kd in the 80's.

They were just simple names like the "Kings Castle" and the "Black Knights Fortress" and you could buy packs of soldiers and horses and wagons and shit and create huge armies....They were GENERIC, and thats what I liked about them.

Nowadays, you can still get legos like that, but they are all based on a movie like "Harry Potter" or "Lord of the Rings" ..... BAHHHHHHH! :puke:

You mixed up a pudding-like dessert and then poured chocolate over it which hardened into a shell. It was, I'm sure, loaded with unsavory chemicals but my sister and I loved it!

If the store can get the rootbeer & ginger ale from their distributor (probably United Natural Foods or Tree of Life), then they can get you the Hansen's cola. Ask if they can order you a case of it. A case is four 6-packs. It shouldn't be hard for the store, provided you're dealing with a health food store and not a big supermarket.

I was under the impression that they didn't make it anymore. Next time I'm at the store I'll ask.

Little circles of pressed toothpaste with a sticky back. Stick it on your finger and scrub your teeth, then throw it out. Great for when you're not at home and just HAVE to clean your teeth. Can't find them anymore, and those new Brushups don't do half as good a job.
