If USA wins, they advance to the semi-finals. If they lose, they are pretty much out of it.

2. Whats awesome is that I just discovered that the finals are in San Diego.
Where I live.
The first game here is between The Dominican Republic and Cuba.
I'm checking on tickets right now.

3. I went to the USA v. Mexico game last week in PHX
It was a lot of fun. The stadium was nor prepared for the crowd. According to the cheers, I am a "Chivo".

5. Clemens just hit a guy.
He has a crummy record in deciding games.

7. Bob Davidson blew another call on a HR that HIT THE FAIR POLE!
The ball was obviously a HR for Mexico. It hit the pole, about 10 feet from the wall which makes it a HOME RUN. Davidson, who came up with a questionable call against Japan, jus BLEW another one to aid the home team.
This remionds me of USA vs Soviet Union, 1972 Olympic basketball.
Embarrassing!

9. How did you view that questionable call?
The one where the ball was a HR and the American Umpire calls it a double....

10. To answer that question . .

I'll just say it should've been 2-0. I fully agree with you on point.

Just glad Mexico was able to get 1 out of the deal (I'm rooting for America. . . but I want a fairly called game as well)

Edit: Foolish me I just realize, how could it be 2-0 if the guy hits a homerun and the next guy only gets a base hit with no one on. "shakes head".

13. It must be because I'm a wrestling fan
But when I see that typed out I hear it in Bobby Heenan's voice.

Bobby Heenan: Mexico got jobbed Monsoon.

17. With the "Home Town Ump", I hope USA does lose tonight.
Its apalling that an Umpire can blow an obvious call like that in an elimination game.

22. Aw man... when you said "USA vs Mexico" I was hoping it was World Cup...
…prelims. The games between the US and Mexico national soccer teams are quite… uhm… "heated" (or if you don't like euphemisms, stop just short of gouging each other's eyes out with dirt clods).

But no… this thread was just about baseball. *yawn*
