Cool! I watched TRON the other day and wondered about it, now there's
a writeup about what was going on behind the scenes at Tom's Hardware

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/2006/03/16/tron_uk/

Well, I say that I 'watched' TRON, but it was soo hookey I had to switch over to something else now and then.

6. Yep, he's in it
Jay Maynard, a.k.a. Tron Guy, is a middle-aged computer consultant from Minnesota, who designed his own Tron costume, which he proudly wore on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Nearly 25 years after Tron's release, Maynard's passion for the film still runs hot like a Light Cycle in overdrive. "The movie was so ahead of its time," Maynard said. "It was much better than I expected because I wasn't sure Disney really understood computers and technology. But it was amazing because Steve Lisberger was really looking ahead to what computers could be."

18. BEWARE! I LIVE!
RUN, COWARD! AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHH!

I posted a tribute to the magnificent Sinistar on an another thread the other day, and no one seemed to know what I was talking about. Glad to know that there are other people who remember that game, and who remember that pants-wettingly awful scream (in a cabinet with speakers that must have been 50 watts per channel) when Sinistar come to life.

I was in 8th grade when that game came out. It was nearly a revelation-- nearly, because Zaxxon was still in the house.

8. I watched Tron the other day, too ...
and by that I mean that it was on in the background while I played "The Sims 2". Anywoo, that movie meant a lot to me and my cousins back in the day. We were all 10 or so or something when we saw it in the theater and totally were not buying it. So, we started making fun of it and then got shushed by some nuns. My very Catholic cousin was appalled and ashamed, but what were nuns doing going to see Tron anyway? :)

19. I caught that this past weekend too.
I was surprised how appealing the "cinematography" was--really easy on the eyes, not jarring, like a lot of 80s imagery. I was impressed, but by that alone.
