Where are they now?

Jessica Lynch now wants to be a journalist, eh. How quaint. Is she gonna be an honest one who calls bullshit at obvious DoD-sponsored news? Oh, wait, she's still counting the interest on the cool mil she got for the book deal. Never mind. Optimism misplaced.

1. Well I will say this:
She could have sat back and taken the media attention that was being thrown at her, and she could have just shut up and followed her orders to not say anything from the Pentagon. Instead she came out and said that the reports about what had happened were not true, that she didn't singlehandedly fight off a bunch of Iraqis, or that she wasn't mistreated or tortured by the Iraqi hospital. It would have been a lot easier for her to sit back and smile and get all the celebrity, but instead she had the integrity to talk about what really happened.

2. I agree. I said from the beginning-they picked the wrong girl
As soon as her family showed up on the air and I got a good look at them and how they were handling this I knew that she wasn't going to toe the line in this. Oh the reason I knew the whole thing was made up was from a Guardian article on DU the NEXT DAY in which one Brit public affairs officer who had seen the whole 12 hour tape said that he was glad that they didn't have anything to do with this story. Of course Time and Newsweek featured her on the cover. Real life Wag the Dog.
