My husband had his first protest today!
Not only am I proud of him, but I'm jealous of his experience. He arrived in London at 7:30 in the morning (London time) for a business trip and he had all morning to walk around and do the tourist thing. This is his first time in the UK by the way.

While walking around, he discovers a massive anti-war protest (read about it here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/london/4818952.stm) and jumps right in! How freakin' cool is that?? :bounce:

2. That is totally cool!
What a guy!

I was going to go down to our regular 10 man protest today, but I stayed home and fought with my husband instead. You guys definitely took the better route! :)

3. aaahh, don't fight!
I'm sorry to hear that...not a fun way to spend a Saturday, that's for sure.

The ironic thing for Paul is that he has missed going to past protests with me because he was working (he's a workaholic) so it's only fitting that he would finally be able to join a protest while on a business trip.

5. You know, I have no idea....
but tens of thousands of people were on the street fighting the good fight so I doubt it. With all the chanting, no one heard (or cared?) about his American dialect enough to respond to his Yankiness. :)

7. Nbc reported hundreds of people.
I thought it looked bigger than that.

8. Seriously? that's ridiculous.
BBC's article said that police estimated 15-20,000 but organizers estimated close to 80,000. There's no way one could see the pics and think "hundreds". Ridiculous!

6. Talk about synchronicity!
I'm glad he was able to take it in. What an experience it must have been! :-)
