Poll question: What Kind Of Mailbox Do You Have At Home?

2. Same here.
Mini YAYS for the Royal Mail and not having to tramp to the end of the drive to pick up the post (albeit it arrives after I've left for work anyway :eyes: ).

Though there are loads of letter boxes at the ends of drives round here on the houses with automatic gates.

4. I voted wrong
Didn't see the residential multi-box.

It's about 100 yards away. Some days, the walk is the only exercise I get, so it's a good thing.

5. Heh-heh... I Know What You Mean...
Yep! Sometimes that's the full extent of my daily walk too! :hi: It's about a 60-yard walk down our driveway to get to our RFD style mailbox.

7. Slot in the door
Very civilized. And trash collection in the alley behind. As God intended.

The rain never hits it.

11. Rural box mounted
On our front porch.

The mail people like it and wish everybody had one as it is easy to load and unload.

16. Rural route box
At the end of the drive with several other boxes. About an eighth of a mile through the redwoods - nice walk.

Luckily it's not too far from my place.

22. Door slot.
But usually the mailman just opens the storm door and puts it on the counter for me.

23. Until less than a year ago when I lived in the country, we had the
traditional rural mailbox. The only problem was we had to cross a fairly busy two-line highway to get to the box, as the USPS delivered on only one side of the highway (the right side coming out of town).

Now that I live in a new subidivision in town, I have to walk to a multibox thing on a pedestal about 15 yards away. Talk about homogenization. I wish I could just get the mail delivered to my door. Who decides these things?

I do miss the rural-style mailbox -- that's a real mailbox.
