My father was the spitting image of his father....
I am looking at a photo of Grandpa, who died more than 30 years before I was born and when my father was only 8...and of Spanish flu in 1918. :(

He was an undertaker in Elgin, IL. The photo shows him and his damn near identical brother standing in front of the funeral parlor. Jeez, he looks exactly like my father. Except my father didn't have the goofy haircut.

I had not seen this photo until recently. We found it shortly after my mother died...and my father has been gone for several years, so I cannot share it with him. But I will with you. Sorry, no scanner or digital camera to post the image.

1. Genetics are amazing, aren't they?
Sometimes the similarities are breathtaking, even after skipping a generation or two. In other cases, you wonder how, say, siblings could be remotely related.
