On my first day of college
Edited on Sun Mar-19-06 08:28 PM by SoCalDem
in my very first class.. English class ....held in the military sciences bldg...an odd choice to have a class, considering it was 1968..

The very first thing I was taught as a college student...

How to make a paper ashtray that would not burn the place down :)

He even handed out paper and a mimeo diagram (pre xerox era, kiddies)

What did you do on your first day of college??

1. Went to my first class like a good little girl.
Skipped the second because I ran into a hot guy who invited me over.

2. I almost slept through my first class...
no lie I accidentally set my alarm for 7:00 pm instead of am. I woke up at 7:45 for an 8am class and literally sprinted across campus. Now as a lazy jaded senior...I probably would have just rolled over in bed and went back to sleep because it was just not meant to be that day :P

5. Chemistry
First class was 8:30 am Monday morning. I walked into the room- well ,more like a auditorium and was shocked that it was so big and there were so many people. Mind you I went to a very small HS. My graduating class was 63 people. I think there was double that in that class.

7. Heh...I had almost 800 people in my first chem class
2nd semester, after they weeded out all the wannabe premeds, it was down to about 200. :-)

6. Ditched.
I was star (only) witness in a personal injury lawsuit. The profs knew I would be AWOL, because the trial happened to be that day. The plaintiff won. :D

8. Exhausted myself in the entrance test for a lifesaving course.
I thought I was a good swimmer, but I was panting for an hour or more afterward. Whew!

Guess I'm not sure that that was actually the first day of classes, but it's the one I remember.
