10. Me too!
I was crawling along 6th Street downtown after work one night and I was getting way annoyed! Then I saw a sign that said CSI... in a short alley by a dumpster, there stood (oh God I'm pissed I can't remember the actor's name! I love his work!) the guy who plays Grissom! I rolled down the window and shouted... WOOOOOOOOO! CSI RULES! Heh! The delay was worth it that night:)

I used to work in Century City and on Wilshire Blvd. in Westwood and it was all day every day. I thought I'd escape some of that when I got a job downtown. Not so much:)

They were filming here in the building last week... the building I'm in is nothing special, but those across the street are very cool... very old and ornate... really looks like old New York around here. Anyway, they had a "fishbowl" meeting room downstairs all made up to look like a campaign headquarters for some fictional congressional candidate guy named Pettrelli... or something like that. They had extras outside walking past the window in winder clothes and they had a fog machine making it look like steam coming up from the sidewalk... they even had NYPD police cars and New York Yellow Cabs!

25. William Peterson I think his name is....
I like him too, he was a cutie when younger.

I shook hands with Martin Sheen down the street where he was filming a made for TV movie. I was on the corner feeding my horses and walked the pasture and back to the set with Patty Duke Astin. That is about it. Met a lot of famous people but this is the only movie I can remember. There are more but I don't know what they were.

In Cold Blood? I think there was some of it here.

51. I met Martin Sheen in my early teens
And my Granny took a picture of us together... at that point, I only knew him from the film, The Execution of Pvt. Slovik... great acting on his part in that flick!

My favorite "star" story is having dinner with Ozzy Osbourne and his family at their home in Buckinghamshire, England, in 1994. I like to think of that as the "pilot" episode to "The Osbournes" :) I met him, and Sharon, again a couple of years later and had Ozzy autograph the photo taken the night of the dinner. My proof positive I've met him more than once:)

34. That stretch of Oregon Coast
With only 2 state troopers on patrol, Florence, that's where I live.

However, we do have a butt load of city cops and a couple sheriffs that patrol too. The state troopers are responsible for a pretty big stretch of 101, outside the city limits.

5. They film in the building where I work
ok...I guess it isn't fair that I work at a major film studio.

They filmed a few scenes of Desperate Housewives outside of my boyfriend's apt. recently. The scenes where Susan went to the feed store to find her biological father. His building was there in the background.

7. Quentin Tarantino used this area in two of his films--
Jackie Brown was filmed at our mall. I used to walk exactly where Pam Grier walked in a scene and get rather tickled by that fact. LOL! Unfortunately, much of the area I'm referring to is now under construction and will never look as it did in the film again. :(

The Cockatoo Inn also featured in Jackie Brown (the exteriors) is in a neighboring city.

Pulp Fiction--the restaurant scene was a restaurant in a city neighboring ours. The restaurant has closed unfortunately and may have even been demolished--not sure as I don't make it to that end of town often. But I was sad to here it was closed.

:hi:

Looks like the Motion Picture Academy should rope off the area with yellow tape. This Is Spinal Tap seems to have escaped the curse.

12. Since I'm rural, I'll include about a 80 mile radius
There was Foxfire Light, a totally lame Janet Dailey romance novel turned movie.

To the north of me was Larva - a Sci Fi Channel doozy.

To the south was Chrystal with Billy Bob Thornton.

13. Veronica Mars (TV Series)
An episode of Veronica Mars filmed at the casino where I work, but because we were told the wrong airdate, a lot of us at the casino never *saw* it! Does anyone here watch Veronica Mars, & was there an episode set in a casino this season? If so, they made it where I work (Viejas Casino, by San Diego).

44. Oh, hell yes! Remember the scene where he jumps off the back of a
hay wagon and goes to a political rally? He works his way through the crowd and sees his daughters singing on the stage-its the scene where they tell him "mama said there wasn't nuthin' left but a greasy spot"

Well, I saw that scene filmed and at the beginning of each take, he came and stood right next to me (most of one day of filming). He was VERY professional, but also extremely nice and I never saw him refuse a request for a picture or an autograph. He also told a group of guys standing around us a risque joke and generally seemed to be having a great time in the 100 degree temperature you get in Mississippi in August.

He brushed my elbow and the women I worked with actually would come up and touch it.

During the filming of "The Ponder Heart", my partner and I met Brent Spiner (Data on Star Trek TNG), and two other actors-Victor Slezak and Lenny von Dohlen when we took our dog onto the set after filming one night. We five talked for about an hour about Mississippi, food, dogs, but nothing about Hollywood/movies etc. They all seemed to enjoy being treated like normal guys.

for 4 +/- years...... His lyrics in http://www.lyricsfreak.com/d/doors,-the/42604.html are from right outside of Albuq. They were in military housing less than 1/4 of a mile from where I grew up.

If I had only been a a bit older.....

"Junior Bonner", starring Steve McQueen.
"Billy Jack", starring Tom Laughlin.
"Wanda Nevada", starring Peter Fonda.

And BUNCHES of ol' cowboy Tom Mix movies.

Not movies, but interesting:

In the late 1870's, Wyatt Earp, Morgan Earp and Doc Holliday spent much time here before they left for Tombstone... Virgil Earp was Town Constable at the time. Doc was on a winning streak at a local saloon (which is still here), where he won $10,000 in Poker. He joined the Earp's eight months later in Tombstone.

I doubt that anyone here has seen it, but it was released in theaters here in Louisville because the filmmaker is from here (he went to my high school, like the Syriana director Steve Gaghan). The film features Louisville prominently, almost obsessively.

2. Motorcycle Women (2002) (TV)
3. Wild One, The (1953) 6.9/10 (1839 votes)
...aka Hot Blood (1953) (USA: first screenings title)

"The Wild One" was based on an "incident" that happened here in 1947, but none of it was shot here AFAIK.

Just down the road, in San Juan Bautista...

1. "America" (1972) TV Series
2. Leave Yesterday Behind (1978) (TV) 5.9/10 (35 votes)
3. Vertigo (1958) 8.5/10 (40650 votes)

The scenes around the mission in "Vertigo" were filmed at Mission San Juan Bautista. Hitchcock supposedly liked this area.
