That Larry The Cable Guy film looks like a definite think piece...
Unfortunately, in spite of myself, I find the guy pretty effing funny sometimes, however, this film looks godawful. It's one thing to do a few skits or some stand up, but to stretch that out for a whole feature film is not a good thing.

Man, the trailer and tv spots are nerve-grating. I am about ready to shoot the tv when it comes on. I have a major distaste for fart jokes. I don't care if it's Larry The Cable Guy, Kevin Smith or if somehow Akira Kurosawa rose from the dead and put one in a film. I just don't find that stuff funny. At all. The tv spots have some pretty classless stuff. I can't imagine how much the film would scar me if I watched it. (I won't)

I prefer to rent classy films. Like "Chairman of the Board" things like that. :) No, jk, actually, just got "City of God," Osama," "Rabbit-Proof Fence" and a documentary on RFK today. I am not beyond watching typical filth though. I love goofball comedies, from some of the former SNL guys or the earlier Farrelly stuff, etc. Some good ones out there. But Larry looks like he has come up with something virtually unwatchable here. :)

I predict that due to the large number of Bush voters flocking to the movie theaters that it will unfortunately do well at the box office. (hey Freepers, I watch pro wrestling constantly, I can poke fun can't I? Just a little, it's all in good fun)

1. I find Larry the Cable Guy funny sometimes too. I guess I go against
the PC grain, but I do that a lot of times. He can be quite entertaining. :) Although he's become overdone now, I really enjoyed him when he first came out.

2. I must disagree
Larry the Cable Guy

Charges: The absolute nadir of the American South’s baffling cultural hegemony. A middle-class Nebraskan, raised in Palm Beach, whose parents sent him to private school, masquerading as an Appalachian mutant and making millions off the nine-toed cyclopes in his audience by calling his material "blue collar," when it’s really just a celebration of proud ignorance. The latest in a long line of "entertainers" propagating the lie that real talent is elitist. The South has risen again—just long enough to grab the rest of the nation by the legs and pull it back down to its Lovecraftian depths. Isn’t even "bad funny." Makes Jeff Foxworthy look like Chris Rock.

Exhibit A: Ostensibly humorous catchphrase translates into "complete the task."

Sentence: Sent back in time for the sole purpose of having Mark Twain’s cigars extinguished on his face.
