Inappropriate places for phone conversation.
A few minutes ago one of miz t.'s friends called.
They chatted for a bit and then miz t. left the room, still talking.
A couple of minutes later I walked by the bathroom and there's miz t., seated on the john and still talking.
"Does she know where you are and what you're doing?"

I just think that violates some rule of proper decorum.
;-)

And since you're home the house one seems a bit indecorous, and I will now use the appropriate smiley for this post:

death and how they will handle the "memorial" in North Carolina.

2. I was in a hotel men's room a few weeks ago and
(I hate to be gross about this), there was guy in one of the stalls just "grunting one out" (loudly!) while talking on his cell phone.

I hope the guy on the other end thought his friend was lifting 100 pound bags of kitty litter, not taking the world's loudest dump.

3. That one drives me nuts, especially in public restrooms
Other places?

The supermarket checkout line - I can't tell you how irritating it is to wait on a customer who is paying absolutely no attention to you.

Behind the wheel of the car.

At the movies.

In a restaurant (I'm amazed at the number of people I see seated at tables and they're both talking on the phone - I always wonder if they're talking to each other but feel more comfortable with the phone glued to their head).

During sex. That one is SO rude. ;)

Not too shabby!

On a more serious note, no, talking in the john should be ought of bounds, you're quite right!

10. No, not noise level
Some things just should be private.

Hell on good days I can defecate as quietly as a mouse in church. :-)

Or, if you own a cell phone, I guess it's the "It's not the silent area, so talk as loud as you'd like" area. x(

I think it's a good rule.

14. In the silent area there's no cell phone use allowed.

Everywhere else in the library, it's allowed, but ringers have to be turned off. Sadly, ringer volume doesn't affect douchebag voice volume.

16. That brings up another subject...
I noticed the other day that some people practically scream into their cell phones. I live with one. My daugher pointed it out, "Mom, tell Dad that he really doesn't have to SHOUT when he's on his cell."

He does this when he's at home and when he's not at home. When he calls home. And it's not just him, it's other people, too.

Why do some people do this? It can't be the reception, at least not always. I don't use the cell phone very often, but I speak at a fairly normal volume when I do and I THINK that I'm heard. I'm pretty sure, anyway.

It's irritating. Especially when the person who's shouting at their phone gives you dirty looks like you're eavesdropping...

17. In Public ...

People walking down the street with those blasted sci-fi inspired ear wings, incessantly yaking at the air like crazed loons make me want to do violent things. They invariably do something incredibly rude, like walk into you or hold up a line at the grocery store because they just can't be bothered to shut the hell up for five seconds to pay attention to anything going on around them.

I hate phones generally. I have no use for them except for emergencies, take-out, and talking to people who don't live within driving distance of me.
