I just went to a memorial service for a 16 year-old

Terrible, terrible story. Kid was a freestyle skiing rising star, just qualified for his first nationals.

Friday he went up the mountain for a photo shoot. Sunset, him hucking himself off ramps and things. On the way back he hitched a ride on a snowcat, slipped and was crushed under the tracks.

Beautiful event. Hundreds, literally hundreds of people came to celebrate what was a great kid. :cry:

Too young. Know the mother, she's a wreck. Too fucking young. :(

6. Incredible service, though

People go their whole lives, and wouldn't fill a phone booth for their funeral. This kid, you should've heard the kids who stood up and spoke about him. Beautiful child.

The kid. Ach. :( My girlfriend knew him from way back, she ran a youth program he took part in. Rock climbing and stuff.

Ach. :(

It's the kid in this story. I can't imagine being that cat driver.

2. In high school, 8 kids died. Not all at once, but over a 3 year period.

Plus, a friend's three year old sister. It's rough. I know what you must be going through.

Everyone who's been through this kind of stuff says nothing matters but time. And keeping mom off the sauce. :)

She's lucky, the rest of her family came back into our little burg to be there.
