Good Wednesday Morning, Crew!

:donut::hi:
Here we are at yet another "Hump Day"! :bounce: How are you this morning? I hope all is going well for you! Everything is splendid in the Clintmax household I'm happy to say! :bounce:

I'd like to get an opinion from you about something: I want to get a "vanity plate" for the front of my car (you know...the plastic ones they sell at the malls to cover the plate holders on the front bumper of your car so you don't have this empty black license plate holder right in front). They have all kinds of pre-made ones...car manufacturer logos and models, sports teams, etc...but they also make custom ones too. They are laser cut and you can have anything you'd like on them. Here's what I was thinking: Black background with bright yellow lettering that just says: Clintmax. I think it would look cool on my yellow car, but I'm not sure about having my name right there for all the world to see. What do you think? Any suggestions?

As you know, today is the day we need to hurdle to be on the way to the weekend! :woohoo: So let's start it out right...together! :bounce:

Ready! :bounce:

Steady! :bounce:

GO! :bounce:

50. Oh, I have this problem
whenever I print something it prints out a cover sheet for me. I only just learned it isn't even supposed to do that.

So I had to print out 11 program control documents, or PCDs for short. These are printed on pink paper, so I had to set the print option to manual feed (otherwise it would print on regular white paper from the tray). So I went up to the printer and manually fed in my pink paper, forgetting about the cover sheet, which was duly printed on pink paper. I got a bit flustered and forgot to feed in the next sheet, so instead it took from the tray and printed my PCD on white paper. My boss is standing next to me waiting to use the printer while I am fucking all this up. Finally I get the idea and start getting it right, but the remaining 10 PCDs alternated with a cover sheet each time, remembering when to feed and when not to feed takes so fucking long, all the time with my boss waiting for the printer!

:hide:

49. Sounds good to me.
Have you managed to conquer the nasty oracle then? (Personally, I'd go with the Sybil - but that's just me.)

Lunch is my typical: salad, bread, cheese (white stilton with abricots) and soup (vichyssoise) - though I'm in the mood for something like a thick rare steak (naughty naughty me).

Are you taking your chances with the staff canteen, or have you brought your own?

13. It is always the same
I try to stay busy so that I have not much chance to think of him, but he wiggles himself into my thoughts again and again.

I told my mom about him. She said I shouldn't bug him. I should let him "conquest" me. Letting him hunt me. I hate that but I guess she is right.

don't do it that way then. You have to conduct yourself the way YOU want to. If you don't like to be "conquested", then I wouldn't even go down that road.

And so did MissHoney, Wetzel and Starbucks Anarchist while I was trying to get this typed out. ;) I think your idea would be fine! Or, you could think up a "nickname" for your car that matches yours...maybe. My mom had one on her conversion van in the 80's that read "Mom's Dream" for my grandma. Today is the first day of the rest of my life...I'm in a goofy mood this AM. :)

As for the info: It may be possible that the right events could do it. First item: Getting past that wall that people put around their beliefs.... that's the reason why the freeps appear not to listen to sense; every time you propose a counter-argument that would do damage to the belief system, the wall around said beleifs blocks it.

56. Well one project led to another to another.
While changing my kitchen faucet this weekend, the new one couldn't be put on because the threads on the supply pipe were rusted off. I called a plumber to try and fix that. Bottom line: 60 y/o galvanized plumbing, not good. Since the house is half torn up, I'm getting all the plumbing replaced. I was aware that this would need to be done in the not so distant future. So better now than after the new bath or kitchen goes in. Or worse, leaky pipes at 3 am.

16. Good morning Clint.
:hi:

You actually made it in just before midday - very impressive.

I'm still asleep here - I slept very well and deeply and basically my body/mind doesn't want to wake up.

Hope that you're all well.

27. Had some coffee first thing
despite being the consistancy of road-tar it did absolutely nothing to rouse me...lunch is rapidly approaching though.

Work isn't bad at all, though I haven't really accomplished much at all today.

It's now afternoon by a couple of minutes.

Need to choose some new music to take me up to lunch - a piece about half an hour long is called for, I'm in the mood for something fairly modern too, have to have a poke around the M.P.3 and see what's sitting there.

33. Do you make your own coffee, or do you purchase it on the way to work?
Road-tar coffee is a sign of now knowing how to brew it properly. Sounds like someone needs a lesson in proper coffee making.

Lunch is coming up, huh? What did you bring today?

41. Make my own.
and by road-tar I merely mean incredibly strong - which is how I have it first thing in the morning.

But if you're offering to come over here and teach my coffee making - you're always welcome. :D

Lunch is my usual - salad, bread, cheese (white-stilon with abricots), and soup (vichyssoise). :9

It wasn't too strong.
That's how I like it...

Well I prefer it espresso which is a very different type of strong, but in the absence of anything in the office with which to make espresso road-tar filtered will have to do.

Perhaps I will even make it over to you one day - I'm thinking that any time after 20 January 2009 would be an improvement...so if you make it to England before then :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

The only drawback I could see about the custom "Clintmax" plate is that you could be potentially outing yourself to any Freepers in your area who lurk on DU (and we know how vindictive they can be). :scared: If you're not worried about that, go for it.

45. This one is dumber than most
It's about the "updated" behavior programs for two of the clients. 90% of the time their version of "updating" a BP means they slap a new date on the same program as they had the previous year and have everybody sign off on it. So now I have to waste who knows how long of my evening for that, when I could easily read and sign off on them during my regular shift. :eyes:
