Poll question: Which "American Idol" contestant is going home tonight?
Edited on Wed Mar-29-06 01:34 PM by MissMillie
Mandissa is a favorite of mine, but I don't think her song choice won her any points last night. (Not that I didn't enjoy it, but I get the feeling that a lot of people just went "huh?")

My favorite performance of the evening was Paris.

Taylor did well. I was not at all impressed with Ace, Bucky or Katharine.

What do you think? Who is going HOME?

1. I think Chris took an uneccessary risk with that Creed song.
That particular song does not have very good mass appeal.

4. Many other Creed songs he could have done
I have to agree with Simon this week, Chris is coming across as too one-dimensional.

Next week Ace should go. He's just awful!

22. A couple times he showed promise

But my worst fear came true when he actually did a CREED song. And called the band a favorite of his. :scared:

5. I didn't think any of them did well last night...
especially compared to last week when they were all great.

9. I wonder how much influence Barry Manilow had
on how good the contestants sounded last week? He really seemed to help them find the right key and kicked up the songs a bit for them.

18. Manilow gave all of them a needed shot in the arm of professionalism.
This week they all sank back down to their amateur levels like so many collapsed souffles.

21. It was embarrassing
And what was with the cheesy wink she did? It's ok to have fun in a song, but it was like she wasn't serious at all about her song.

24. Yea, another Bucky supporter
I'm not alone here. I thought Bucky had a solid performance last night. Sounded a bit like Tracy Lawrence on the song IMO.

8. Ace is terrible.. his looks have carried him this far.
He also has a sort of terrified expression when he sings- no charisma.

I love Paris (in the springtime- tee hee) and Taylor.

Just like last year's Constantine Maroulis... I did not get his appeal at all. i thought he was a poser and way over-rated.

Now, Taylor is more appealing to me. I like tall, big guys... a little chub doesn't bother me at all.

11. I loved Simon's reaction when Paula was lusting after Ace's scar
You could practically see all color drain from face and his expression freeze. I've never seen anyone lunge into a conversation as fast as Simon did at that moment.

14. I think Paula is a loose (and lustful) cannon!
After her (alleged) affair with a contestant last year, you'd think she'd be more careful... I am sure the producers have her under heavy surveillance.

and replacing her with Jessica Simpson or Brittany Spears! Unbelieveable!!

Don't mess with success! As for the bimbos, lets see if their fame holds up for 2 decades.

19. Paris was the only truly good performance last night.
Somany to choose from to go home. Buckey, Ace, and Kelli all need ot leave but we can only choose one. I go with Buckey.

Edited on Wed Mar-29-06 06:42 PM by mvd
Personally, I think there were only two bad performances last night - Kellie's and Chris's. There were a few mediocre ones. I thought Ace, Katharine, Mandisa, Paris, and Taylor were good. It was clearly Mandisa's worst song choice, but she makes most everything worth doing. Best of the night was Taylor - just a smidgen better than Paris.

I love her distinctive voice, and thought she showed her range last night (deserved a better song.) But I have a crush on her, and that's another reason I don't want her to leave..

she isn't memorable at all. I hope Chris or Elliot wins the whole thing. And I hope Paula keeps drinking before the show. :-)
