Webmasters --- Need your help
Edited on Wed Mar-29-06 04:36 PM by SIU_Blue
and now that I have your attention...

please look at this site

http://siuspd.atspace.com/ "> http://siuspd.atspace.com/

I'm designing it for a group I belong to, and I am having some browser compatibility issues. First of all, please tell me if you come across any obvious errors. The errors I know about which I hope someone can help me with are:

I am using CSS to make the table cell on the right scroll if someone shrinks the window. The code I'm using is:

<div style="height: 100%; overflow: auto">

which seems to work fine in IE but not at all in Firefox, anyone know why?

Secondly, the font I like is "Eras Demi ITC". Obviously, this is not a universal font. Are there any universal fonts other than the familys that contain Arial and Courier?

1. scrolling tables in CSS are a bitch
I've never been able to make them work cross-browser, and I've been doing CSS for six years (since IE4 and NS4 days, when Dreamweaver didn't support CSS layouts, and you had to hand-code them all).

You may want to try this link: http://www.imaputz.com/cssStuff/bigFourVersion.html

As far as font families, the three tried and true are Arial/Verdana/Helvetica for sans-serif, Times/Times New Roman for serif, and Courier for monospace. Other than that it's a crapshoot. M$ used to have a technology that allowed you to embed your fonts thru a link tag, but it was as popular as ham sandwiches at a bar mitzvah.

Good luck.

2. thanks for your help...
do you know of any other way to do scrolling tables? Java? I could do an inline frame I guess, but that would require a complete redesign. Maybe I'll have to do that x(

Oh well, thanks again.
