My turn to start a "question" thread....

Mine is simple, just one question, actually...

Anyone else enjoying these question threads as much as me? I am really, really enjoying reading all of the interesting, insightful, inspirational and just plain old funny answers from DUers I know well, and from those who are new to me!

Maybe I'm just being a Pollyanna here because I've been gone much of the past few months and am admittedly happy to be able to spend a bit more time here nowadays. Maybe things are just going so well for me in real life that it is rubbing off on my outlook here. Whatever it is, I'm really grateful to have a home here at DU. And for the chance to get to know many of you a little better through these fun threads!

What in the holy heck is "herk"? I've seen this word scattered in thread titles and posts the past few days I've been back around. Help!

One of my friends got rather emotional on AIM and told me that I was "JUST A BIG HERK!!"

I thought it made a good all-purpose word. Hence, herk.

I tend to have limited time, but it's something fun to read/do when I can. :)

I'm very cautious about posting personal information or pictures publicly, but these broad philosophical question threads are general enough for my comfort level!

Life IS treating me good, and I'm very grateful for many things and people these days. Actually, I think life might have been treating me good for a while now, I just couldn't see it because I was too busy treating myself bad.

Things - life - people - none of them are really as complicated as we tend to make them, you know? I'm just enjoying re-learning all the kindergarten stuff and enjoying the results each day.

I saw an Ellen Degeneris bit about playing... jumping, screaming, laughing... it made everyone laugh with delight. I think we miss out on joy if we refuse to play. And that's especially true, if you've been through some painful times.

I'm 44, and I'm just learning this now. :)

First, it is a bit of a chore to copy and paste when the OP has his/her answers already embedded.....

Is there some easier way to do it, on my end?

And I wish I knew how to make the heavier black type (or other special fonts) that I see people using here......

If I could get those issues out of the way, I'd enjoy those threads a whole lot more!
