A question for mothers
Does breastfeeding permanently change your breasts? Specifically, do your nipples no longer get hard?

8. Nope
Perhaps a bit more work to happen manually, just as fast as a reaction to cold or arousal though.

3. I'm not a mother, but . . .
. . . judging from my ex-wife's breasts, I think they go into a permanent state of hardness. ;)

5. I would say no, it doesn't permanently change the breasts.....
Nipples do still get hard with stimulation! Believe me.....

And you can believe me! I speak from experience.....

Breastfeeding is thought to lessen the risk of breast cancer, as well....

An interesting question......

:hi:

6. Nipples will still get hard....
Edited on Thu Mar-30-06 01:15 AM by GloriaSmith
But permanent change of the breast depends on the woman in terms of shape and size.

on edit: This is probably TMI, but my nipples are more sensitive now and my daughter is almost 6 yrs old.

11. My nipples became more sensitive after I breastfed, too.
They still are, and my youngest child is 32!

14. does it annoy you too?
It drives me nuts because they now how have little angry minds of their own. New bra? Cold outside? wearing a t-shirt without a bra? Accidentally moving my arm across my upper torso? Zipping up the winter coat? Hugging my mother-in-law? Carrying groceries in a paper bag? My nipples don't care what the situation is, they just looooove to make their presence known. :eyes:

7. Yes and no.
Yes, there are permanent changes, in terms of small stretch marks. Not a big deal, on my end. It's been over 8 yrs since I've nursed.

No, my nipples are just fine, thank you very much. The hubby would agree. :D

Why do you ask?

10. Pregnancy changes your breasts, not bfeeding. And yes, they still "work".
But if your breasts are still making milk, if you get "aroused" :silly: I've heard some women say you might get some leakage. I never had that problem.

Pregnancy causes all the problems, yuck yuck yuck!! Breastfeeding was okay, and as someone upthread says, it's nice to use them for their actual intended purpose.

Three kids later and things remain the same.

**confirmed by her husband**

P.S. He was a little freaked about the inquiry into my sisters nipples.

13. Doesn't change that much
Makes them a little more sensitive to stimulation, if anything.

Pregnancy itself is what causes the changes...to the breast itself though, not the nipple.

After the birth of your child, the
condition of your nipples is mundane.
You have a chld!

I'm probably out of line.

oops.

21. My nipples get harder after breastfeeding.
Before breastfeeding, my nipples were so short and stubby, they were almost flat. Now they look normal. If anything, women's breasts are more reactive after breastfeeding.

23. Anything that causes them to become massively swollen can change them
permanently, I'd imagine. As for the nipple part- I've never heard of that, nor did I note any such effect from nursing my sprouts, though the areolas can become darker and larger (as a result of pregnancy, though, not really nursing.)

27. In my experience
pregnancy changes them more than breastfeeding. They get bigger and darker. And yes, they still get hard.

28. my answer
i breastfed 4 babies until they stopped on their own, (between 1-2 years) so i've got some experience from which i speak.

during those years I was breastfeeding, my breasts were different, obviously.
But, it's been a few years now and I have no permanent change to them other than the passage of time.... and they still get as hard as ever. yay :)
