NYC DUers - Need the name of some good downtown Dive Bars

We're gearing up for the April 29th protest and we've had some great suggestions, but I figured there are probably a ton of you who can think of a great dive bar where there is no dinner crowd to fight, no cover charge, jukebox with great music and good beer on tap.

BettyEllen has something for Saturday night but this will be for Friday night for DUers coming in from out of town and other locals.

What's your favorite lower Manhatten dive bar (preferably around 40th or below)

I've closed this bar a few times:

Blarney Inn: 212-825-9671
122 Water St
New York, NY 10005, US

Corner of Wall & Water Streets. Bar type food, beer, shots, etc. It is not the Wall Street type of bar. Or at least it wasn't when I used to go there through the late 90's and 00's.

Take the Lexington Ave line (4 or 5) train to the wall-street stop. about 4 blocks down wall street to water street.

2. How far down do you want?

40th Street is midtown.

That's several miles from the Financial District downtown.

Most of my favorite dive bars are in the East Village/Alphabet City between 1st St and 14th St. Is that too far?
