1. Squeaky, because
my mom dressed up as her for Halloween back when my mom was young and a little spitfire.

Also, Squeaky Fromme is a kickass name.

2. Not as kick ass as the name Charlie gave his baby
by Susan Atkins: "Zezo Zoze Zadfrak Glutz."

3. Point of contention - Danny DeCarlo wasn't an actual member.
He just hung out with the family for the, ummmm.... errr.... 'loose women.'

And the drugs.

8. True...however, he was involved in the murder of
Shorty Shea. Unlike some of the other Straight Satans, DeCarlo felt some loyalty to Manson and was arrested in the same dune buggy bust that helped bring down the Family.

4. Squeaky.
Simply because I was called that in college. (friends were telling me I looked like her when I was piqued)

Although I believe both Susan and Leslie have found religion...

12. Yup. It's Leslie Van Houten.
Her and Linda Kasabian have both been rehabilitated.

I hope Susan Atkins never gets out....as far as I'm concerned, she's still a psycho.

20. Leslie Van Houten has been rehabilitated, but she should never get out
I've seen her interviewed-she does seem to have a great deal of remorse for her actions. She has been a model inmate, so to speak, and works at the prison teaching other inmates to read and such. She is one of the best arguments against the death penalty in that sense.

That said, her crimes were of a nature in which she deserves a life sentence without parole. She was part of killing the LaBiancas and was lucky she didn't get executed.

Linda Kasabian killed no one, was released after testifying against the family, and went on to live her life (according to Bugliosi). If I have a favorite "Family" member, it's one of the ones who cooperated with the police and helped put the killers away.

Squeaky always makes me think of that old SNL skit "Dangerous, but Inept" where Larraine Newmen played Squeaky.

22. I think Van Houten should be denied parole, too.
Unfortunately, Kasabian's later life hasn't been great. She's been busted for drugs a few times and has all sorts of health problems.

16. No argument there.
It's STILL hard to believe that a guy most people would consider to be just another mangy-ass street nutball street person was able to acquire a small fucking army to do his bidding. How fucked is THAT? After all the reading I've done about the Manson Family, that will still never fail to amaze me.

Like, I avoid obvious pathetic crazy people like that on the street, and yet, he was GOD to a bunch of impressionable young people. How the hell did that happen?

My mother has a couple of paintings he did in her home. I don't know that he's doing right now, but I think at least at one time he had pulled himself pretty well together.
