huzzah! I've never seen him, so this should be quite interesting.

2. when I saw this I was so psyched
I don't know how much he tours, but I've never seen him. Or the Eels. Intriguing.

(i'm be curious to see if this interests anyone besides the usual suspects...)

the last few years we have had Patti Smith, Wilco, Lucinda Williams, Rikki Lee Jones, Sonic Youth one year, Joan Armatrading, Don Byron. Some really interesting folks over the years.

But Verlaine. That's awesome. (my husband has been playing some live Television of late, and it still sounds really good.)

3. I don't even own a copy of Marquee Moon. Isn't that disgraceful?
(well I guess I have one on cassette somewhere in the basement.)

When is Verlaine?

I don't think I've ever seen him in the listings out here.

He played DC once or twice when I lived back there, but I blew it.

4. Ithink it's Sat. June 10th - I've never heard of him touring
I know, why don't you and yours fly out here and see them? j/k ;) Wouldn't it be nice if we could all just jet around the country seeing cool shows?

Tsk. Tsk. I love Marquee Moon, one of the cool things about my husband (and there are many) is that See No Evil was one of the first things he played bass on when he was in a band....

7. well - it's tradition!
I went one year and stood in the rain to see Richard Thompson - it was worth every soaked piece of clothing! And then he came back another year when it was sunny. To be frank, the downpour show was better.

where are you, anyway? :hi: I'm in the East End.

9. West View
My mom just asked if I wanted to take the kids down there Sunday. I'm trying to weigh arts festival food against soaking wet whiny kids.

10. I think we talked before...
yeah, my son just told me on the way to school that he "didn't want to spend 5 hours" at a concert. We went to see 3 of em last year. My response, "so you'd rather watch 5 hours of 70's Steeler re-runs?" ;)

That's funny, the food there is not so great, we used to go and get spanakopita and other goodies at that Greek deli on 6th St for cheap and walk over - I don't know if it's even still there. Are your kids little and whiny - or big and whiny? ;)

11. Little and whiny
And quite hyper, especially around a grandmother who can't say no to save her life.

We rarely had junk food at home when I was a kid. Fried things from suspicious looking vendors was a treat. ;) But spanikopita sounds so much better.

19. Hey tiger
:hi:

Been an eventful couple months, really. Traveled in SE Asia with my mom. My sweet 14-year-old diabetic kitty passed on while I was gone (my boyfriend was taking care of him, not strangers, thank the gods) I'm OK.

I've seen Television twice - once in 1992 and once in 2000 or whenever that was, both at Metro. Never seen Tom solo, it'll be cool. I like his solo records a lot.
