Poll question: Last day on the job question
Okay, so today's my last day on the job. Because of travelling issues, all of my bosses except one are out of town today. The one that is here is prone to leaving early because there's nothing to do and it's Friday.

The firm also sublets an office to a lawyer who is otherwise unaffiliated with the firm. I help him out with stuff from time to time, but it's not part of my job description.

So, the lawyer wants me to help him move his desk, but he won't be coming in until after 2:00. Granted, he's known that this would be my last day for 2 weeks now, but he's waited until the last second to do this.

Personally, I don't feel like it's a good idea in the least to stay here any longer than my boss does on my last day on the job. I feel that it would be a severe security risk on my part. If anything were to happen or if anything went missing, I would immediately be blamed. I do not see it as a good idea to expose myself to that kind of a risk. The lawyer doesn't seem to understand this and is not happy. I don't need him for a reference and our paths will never cross again. Am I being unreasonable here? What would YOU do?

2. A severe security risk is never a good thing.
That's probably why you should follow your inner voice on this one.

3. Yeah, cover yourself.
Short sighted on the lawyer's part. He'll live.

4. Leave when your boss does
i'd rather mildly piss someone off once, than be accused of theft

6. Leave when the boss does
It keeps you from being accused of anything wrong.
