1. Christian Slater
seems to be one of those actors who could have had a great career, but messed it up in poor personal and career choices. His reputation suffered a lot with allegations of physical abuse and drug abuse. Although, a lot of actors have been forgiven for drug and alcohol abuse, the claims of physical abuse are not so easily forgiven or forgotten.

You can screw with yourself (Robert Downey Jr, et al), but when you screw with someone else ((allegedly) Jackson Brown, Jan Michael Vincent), it's hard to reclaim whatever glory you might previously have enjoyed.

Ironically it was director Michael Lehmann's only good film. Meet the Applegates and Airheads were passable, but he also made Hudson Hawk for which he is damned to the lowest pit of hell for all eternity.
