This is the most beautiful skyscraper I have ever seen:

Fifty-five years after the death of William Randolph Hearst, the media company he founded is flush with profits and has realized Mr. Hearst's dream of erecting a Midtown skyscraper.

7. King Kong. It has become part of a myth and a legend.
But mostly because people are allowed to get in and go up and become part of it.

The Chrysler building seems colder and more aloof because it doesn't really welcome visitors. But I agree, it is a site. Nothing else like it in the world.

18. Second that
The ONLY thing that took my breath away on my recent first-ever trip to NYC was turning a corner and looking up and seeing the Chrysler Building in all its glory rising up right before me.

11. My favorite is the First National Bank building in St. Paul, MN:

I like it because I could see it from my grandpa's house when I was a kid. Everytime I went there and stayed the night, I always saw that glowing "1st" on top of the building.

Ahhhh...the memories.

12. This is my idea of a beautiful skyscraper. Otherwise, it's an oxymoron:

Talking about buildings, architecture: in my opinion, "beautiful skyscraper" is an oxymoron.

My opinion.

I live very close to this building and watched it being constructed. It is gorgeous, just gorgeous.

A different angle, with it reflecting the sky and clouds:

It's supposed to resemble a bamboo shoot. It is, or shortly ago was, the world's tallest.

25. Here's the world's ugliest skyscraper,IMHO.
The "Prude" in Boston.

Although in high school we'd drop acid and hang out on the observation deck and try to crash WBCN FM, who had their station up top.
