I just won a staredown with my cat!
Brigid was sitting on a box underneath my bedroom window, looking at me. I looked right into her eyes, and the contest was on! This went on for about a minute; then she looked away. Has anybody else ever won a staredown with a cat?

2. You didn't win
She just got bored. Cars have different criteria for what winning looks like. :-)

6. funny how so many cats look identical
Yours is a dead ringer for my dear cat Beastie, who is literally pushing up daisies in a garden in Virginia.

14. his name is Clancy, he is eight years old
back in '98 I had to have my 14 yr old solid black cat L.B. put to slseep....I was just devastated and ten days later I decided to take a trip to the animal shelter, just to "check thinngs out". I vowed to myself I would not get a solid black male cat because I was not trying to "replace" L.B. But.....six week old Clancy, whose eyes were that big when he was a kitten too, commanded me in a Svengali-fashion to adopt him and the next thing I knew, he was riding home with me in the car. :o

9. Staring at a cat is a "dare"
I read somewhere that if you stare at a cat, they take it as a sign of aggression and the winner is dominant. You must have the only cat in the world who understands that you're the boss.

15. Don't be surprised if you inexplicably stock up on White Albacore.
And much of it ends up in the kitty dish soon after. You've been "whammied".
