Any other DUers ever lifeguard?
Just wondering. I started this week, and am looking forward to a summer of 45 hour weeks, sunburn, and neat stories.

Also, the lifeguards at the waterpark in our district are dumber than a bag of hammers, but that could be pool guard indoctination speaking.

It was fun.

2. Junior and Senior lifeguard for many years, then joined the Coast Guard.
I think there's a pattern there somewhere.

3. I actually wanted to join the USCG, like it was my life's goal,
until about 6th grade, when I decided to be a lawyer. I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up.

4. Yeah, I remember wanting to join when I was 5 - don't even know how I had
heard of it at that time.

Good luck on the quest :) I enjoyed myself, did many interesting things, saw all seven continents due to it, etc.

6. Yep!
It was such a great job, especially compared to my friends who were flipping burgers or mowing lawns. You're outside all day, the hours are great because you can still go out at night, and most of the kids are pretty good. On the downside, by the time I was in my late 20s I already had a few cancerous moles removed-- wear some sunscreen.

I read that you want to be a lawyer someday. I'm a lawyer, and being a lifeguard was way more fun. Enjoy! :)
