3. Good morning, my dear Aristus!
Mmm...Mr. O'Reilly! Looks like he's having a blue Monday!

Excellent choice, as always........

You must be channelling Shakespeare!

Thank you......

6. "Thus far, with rough and all unable pen,
Our bending author hath pursu'd the story...."

Better than channelling Bill O'Reilly, I guess. How are you today, CalPeg?

7. I'm good, my dear Aristus.....
I just got up, and am now trying to wake up!

Tomorrow's our primary election, and I will be poll watching. In preparation for that, I have some stuff to do around the house today.....

'Cause I won't have time for anything tomorrow! I like to keep my poll-watching days simple!

Should be an interesting election. And baby, will I ever be glad it's over!

:patriot:

:hi:

8. Remember, babe...
Vote early, and vote often.

Oh...wait...that's the Republican mantra.

Vote early......and make sure your fellow Dems get their chance to vote, too. No one-booth districts, no waiting for 13 hours to vote. Storm the gates!

9. LOL!
Naw, my little town is quite progressive about numbers of voting booths, and the like!

There are always plenty of booths, and NO 13 hour waits for voting!

They wouldn't DARE! This is a pretty up-scale place as you know.....

No-one would tolerate such antics!

The problem will be trying to get people to vote at all....apathy is rampant.....

:banghead:

10. Apathy? Even after all that's happened?
Are they all "no difference between the two parties" Nader-ites?

11. The apathy is largely due to having too many elections ......
Edited on Mon Jun-05-06 11:17 AM by CaliforniaPeggy
too often...

The parties are not seen as too much alike, by any means.

But the two Dem candidates are very similar, and they have chosen to show their differences by slinging mud.....

After they'd vowed NOT to......

And those tactics just turn off the voters!

PLUS there aren't too many burning issues to get people motivated right now....

So.....that's why there's apathy, in a nutshell........

I'm signing off.....I'm due for my breakfast!

Later, dude! :loveya:

18. Thanks, NNadir.
When I saw this quote, my first thought was Sean Hannity. But I'll wait until I can find a truly venomous quote to use for him. And I'll try to find a good quote about being fat and loudmouthed for Rush Limbaugh. The Henry IV plays are loaded with 'fat' insults.

20. Ooh, good one, Gargoyle!
"Troilus and Cressida" is chock-full of bitter, angry, cynical observations. I've used one already and I want to spread them out. So I'll have to come back to that one later. Thanks for the quote! B-)
