1. It's A Toss-Up Between "Cat" And "Virginia Woolf"...
... but since I could only choose one, I chose Virginia Woolf. Although I probably have more lines memorized from Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

13. I voted for "Woolf"
but I also like Cleopatra, which I think is underrated. It's not a perfect film (partly because it was originally supposed to be two movies), but there is some excellent acting in it, and it's historically accurate as movies go. It's an eye-popping visual feast, too. Alex North's music is superb.

4. I'm with you. Ms. Taylor was tremendous in that roll.
She was wholly on another plane.

6. That's a hard one...
I love "Place in the Sun" but more because Monty Clift and Shelly Winters were so good in it. Virginia Woolf has got to be it. Liz has never been afraid to let the world see all her flaws, as that film proves.

16. One of my favorites, A Place in the Sun
Monty is heart-breaking. And Shelly was perfect as the counterpoint to the ethereal Taylor, whose beauty is so over-whelming that it makes the entire story fall into place. I caught the movie again, not long ago, and it holds up. Well acted, well directed, well written. The complete package.
(Winters' visit to a doctor when Clift is urging her to get an abortion is a grim reminder of what women faced in those days. It's a strong scene.)

Quite possibly my favorite movie from the 60s (at least in the top 3)

8. E. Taylor
I don't know why, but I liked "Elephant Walk" --- hot steamy jungle and big elephants.

10. Didn't she hurt her back on that film while falling off a horse?
I believe that was one of the causes of her life-long health problems.
