Pizza Pie I can grudgingly accept, but if you just say "Let's get a pie" you suck!

If New Jersey doesn't suck, why would NY be there instead of NJ?

16. It's just all sorts of fucked up.
If I'm heading south, I'm going to the shore and I don't consider that south Jersey. It's like a seperate entity or something. We're honestly three states.

I'm actually surrounded by several miles of protected land. Just today, I had turkeys wandering through my backyard. It's quite gorgeous in NW Jersey.

19. I'm in Morris County.
There's actually two farms within five minutes of me (one is a huge llama farm!) but at the same time, we have civilization in Morris County. I'm less than 10 minutes from real civilization and the highway. Even though it's a red county, it's also much more liberal than Sussex county. Morris county is more about socially liberal rich people who vote Republican. Sussex county is more about social conservatives that don't realize Bush isn't helping them.

21. I agree
In Maine they call lunch "dinner" and dinner "supper" I'm a Jersey(Trenton)/Philly girl... Family throughout both cities. It took forever to learn the lingo up here.

Nonetheless, there is nothing, and I mean NOTHING like a good Jersey pizza. I've traveled all over but have yet to find anything as good as a Jersey Pie :P

I can eat a deep dish pizza, and even enjoy it, but I don't respect myself in the morning. Maybe if I call it pie, I can live with what I've done.

Anyway, almost all of the United States doesn't even know how to make one right. I think the states that do, should be allowed to decide what they should be called.

40. Well
In all seriousness, I have to admit that ever since I ate a slice of pizza at a counter-service restaurant (whose name I don't recall) on Manhattan a block or two south of the WTC wreckage, I've never been satisfied with pizza down here again, even when it's been "New York style" or "New Jersey style" pizza.

But I still say grits is better than oatmeal, which tastes suspiciously like soggy cardboard. :)

Edited on Tue Jun-06-06 09:07 PM by Merrick
and I agree about the pie thing. Partly because there are so many different kinds of pie, and saying pizza pie is just stupid because everyone knows what pizza is without throwing the 'pie' part in after. Also 'pie' is just an ugly word. kinda like 'burger'.

32. No a Pie is a Pizza
Sometimes people make a dessert which they call pie. And that's okay with me. They can call their fruity dessert thing whatever they wish. Their naming it after Pizza ia okay with me. :P

36. Unless you are in NJ/NYC, in which case...
A pie could have a crust surrounding a filling but it most likely means a pizza. If it has fruit, we will refer to it by the fruit. If I say blueberry pie, then I mean blueberry pie. If I say pie, I mean pizza.
