1. My dear NormaR......
Yes.....

All the time, if I let myself......

So I try not to let myself....

But I've had some dreams that I know very rationally will NEVER come true, no matter how much I want them to.....

So, somedays I revel in my fantasies, and enjoy them....

And somedays, I feel sad......

That's just life......

4. yes.... many times
sometimes daily, nightly. I can never have 'it'. But I hold close to my heart the fact that I had it once.

It's an ache that I don't allow to ruin my life. Life goes on, love keeps me strong.

NormaR, I hope your heart isn't aching.

36. Yes, it aches for an administration which cares about their citizens
I am sad for my country with this culture of corruption.
It affects me, personally; financially, spiritually, and physically yet I see and hear of others it is hurting even worse.

I am sad for future generations which will be impacted by the poor decisions and the enormous debt they will endure.

I am sad for the seniors who don't have money for their medicines.

I am sad for the millions who have lost their jobs to outsourcing.

I am sad for the countless people who are ill, or who have been saddled with medical debts.

These are only in OUR country....when you think globally, it can be overwhelming.

My own concerns seem truly insignificant when I see the big picture.

41. "Things" ? No.
Sure, I'll see a lovely house, a fine car & feel a bit of "Wow!" But I my heart does not ache.

There are few loves I still remember. Our "times" were not right & things didn't work out. One stayed a friend but he's gone now. Another I still might have had a chance with--but he's gone, too. Damn, I'd hoped I'd still be able to go hear him play the fiddle. (His one true love--no, I wasn't jealous.)

44. From time to time
though I often think that the reaon I don't have much of what I want is because I'm alone. Having 2 incomes would be helpful in buying a house (I want a house not so much for the value of the house, but I'm tired of being jerked around by landlords).

Of course, none of this is a good enough reason to enter the treacherous boundaries of relationship land. I'm terrible at relationships--I must be or someone would have stayed, right?

I have what I need, and for the most part, that is enough.

49. For the longest time
I ached to be a mother, to hold a little one close and rock them, to love them. I would cry everytime I came home from visiting a friend with children. Then I got married and I hoped. Every month I hoped for a miracle. But none came and I cried. Then we adopted a little girl from China. She is the joy of my life and, sometimes truth be told, the bane of my existence. But I wouldn't change it for the world. I would have loved to have been pregnant and given birth, but not this lifetime. I do ache for that - but I now have my little one to hold close, to rock to sleep and cuddle and love. So the ache is more of a mild pain that only pops up occassionally and less each day.

When I read "things" it makes me think of material things... hope that's not what you meant. Bleah.

When I think "things" that make my heart ache... I think of things like: peace on earth, acceptance of people different than ourselves, understanding and real communication... etc.

But I think those things are attainable... so though my heart may ache that they're not here now, I still have hope that we'll have them one day. :)

If I were dying or died tomorrow, I'd be okay EXCEPT,...I would like to know (before my end), prolly not for very long once there, what it's like to be a "have" rather than "have not". One thing's for damn sure, if reincarnation is FOR REAL, I do NOT want to be brought back just to experience being a "have"!!!! I've been exposed to it, would like to have the experience of freedom associated with it,...but would NEVER ask to be returned to this strata of life. No, thank you.
