Welcome to the Hump Day edition of the Early Morning Crew thread! :bounce: I hope you had a good day yesterday! I had a nice day off. I went to Best Buy to use the store credit I had and decided on season 1, 2 and 3 of "Bewitched"! :woohoo: That's all they have out right now, and we plan to have them all! We watched several episodes last night and discovered they colorized the B/W episodes so that all of them are in color. It looks good, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. Why didn't they leave them as they were in their original form? :shrug:

I have also decided on a camera! The Canon Powershot A620! It's a 7.1MP camera and takes beautiful photos. I've read reviews on several sites and they all rate it very high! So I can't wait to go get it! :bounce: Interesting note...the most expensive digital camera I've seen so far is the Nikon D2X. It's a 12.4MP camera and doesn't even come with a lens...are you ready for this??? $6,299.99!! :wow: I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that! :rofl:

$6,299.99 for a digicam??? :yoiks: I got mine as a gift so I don't know exactly how much it cost but I can safely say it was no more than $250, and probably closer to $150. I'd never pay over $6K for one--I'd be terrified something would happen to it.

"Bewitched" eh? I don't have any TV series on DVD yet (and don't even have a DVD player) but one of these days I'd like to begin a collection. I just need to get the discretionary funds. I do have "Twin Peaks" on VHS from many years back.

Yes, I couldn't bring myself to spend that much on a digicam either! That's enough to give ANYONE heart failure! :rofl: We both LOVE Bewitched! The only other TV series I have on DVD is HBO's "OZ". I only need season 5 (the last one) and I'll have them all. It's fun to watch episode after episode! :bounce: Twin Peaks, huh? Now THERE'S one I haven't heard about in a long time!

There are so many series I'd love to have on DVD. Third Watch, Law & Order SVU, Crossing Jordan, ER, My So-Called Life and others I can't think of at the moment.

Then there's the brazillion books I want :rofl:.

We watch it all the time on USA. There's a brazillion episodes of it though so it would be EX-PEN-SIVE to get all of them. :rofl:

I'm looking for apartments right now and hope to hear from a prospective company soon regarding a job. I applied early last week to their Craigslist ad, but I haven't heard any response yet even though I clearly fit their qualifications.

Hopefully, I'll hear from them soon, because the job is more important than the apartment right now.

well, as I told you I went shopping yesterday with my friend. Of course I didn't buy any clothes. I did come close to buy a skirt I really liked but my hips were too big for it :cry:
In the end we made the mistake to go into a bookstore. My purchase there: 3 books. It is awful, whenever I go to a bookstore, I come out with books. I try to avoid bookstore these days as I have more than enough books at home I still need to read but once in a while ...

I have to control myself in bookstores too. I always end up carrying around 3 or 4 books with the intention of buying them, but have to make myself put them back because I have lots to read here also! I'm sorry you didn't find any clothes you liked. I can usually find several things I like...but I have to be careful because I would spend too much money.

I told my friend we better get out of there or I can't control myself any much longer :rofl:

Sounds like you had a good time shopping. Bookstores are so much fun. I try my hardest not to purchase, but sometimes I just succumb to temptation.

well, I try not to go to bookstores too often but everytime I go I buy at least one book. I can't deny that I love to read. I rather buy books than shoes :rofl:

shoes come a close second! I'm always on the lookout for shoes. But that's because I have a hard time finding any that fit because I have such a small foot! ugh!

I am not much into shoes. Same as chocolate. I can live perfectly without chocolate. The chocolate can aly around in my apt for ages without me eating it :shrug: I hope I still count as woman :rofl:

Thank goodness we didn't have anymore lightening and thunder storms last night. Between the quiet weather night and the mild sleeping pill the doctor gave me, the mildest they can prescribe, I finally got about five hours of good restful sleep. It's amazing what a decent night's sleep can do for a person.

I also got a new wheeled walker yesterday. Those are wonderful little contraptions for anyone who has issues with walking.:hug: It provides stability while walking and even has a seat for resting when needed. Oh, but the minute I got the walker I swear my posterior spread by five inches because I barely fit on the seat provided on the walker.:wow: So I may need the next size up - or in this case the next size out.:cry:

Clintmax, when you get that camera and get it all set up we of course need examples of how well it works.:bounce:

Today will be a busy day. My washing machine broke yesterday in the middle of the second load ... and we still have 2 loads to do. It's not worth fixing, so harleydad is going to go to Lowe's and buy a new one. Just another unplanned expense. x(

We were supposed to meet with the builder today, but the guys are coming over to start putting down the new floor. There's no way I'm leaving them here alone with the cats locked in the bathroom, especially since they need to open the door in order to do the trim from the hallway. Sashka did a disappearing trick yesterday, just to make things exciting. Fortunately, they're all choosing the same place to hide -- under the bedroom dresser. It's pulled out from the wall, so they can get under it from the back pretty easily.

I don't want to be closer to the weekend this week, if that's OK with you. Too much to do and I need harleydad here to help me.

Yep, stupid washing machine. Oh, and the vacuum cleaner broke, too. And we discovered some damage on the piano -- front corners of the lid got banged against a wall or something. Now I'm kicking myself for not having the piano movers take it ... but that would have been an additional $1,000 and we're not exactly made of money. We're going to have to call an antiques restorer to take a look at it. And the driver will pay for the damage.

Harleydad is going to try to get some additional days off. Shoot -- I don't even know how to get anywhere yet or how to get back home from where I might get to! :scared:

Well, first it was Sophie, THEN it was Sashka. OK, if you count the incident in the car, first it was SATCHMO! :rofl: So far, Sabrina hasn't given us any trouble. I guess she's next. :rofl:

I'm sorry to hear your piano got damaged. x( When we moved down here from Missouri, we moved ours by ourselves. Luckily, we didn't have any damage to it. I would have been pissed! Your vaccuum broke too? Good gods. x( What next?? :shrug:

:scared: I'm going to have a piano tuner come over and make sure there's nothing wrong with the insides. It's very heavily insured (high-value item on the moving inventory), so we should be OK and whatever is wrong can be fixed. Baby grands are really tricky to move. I told harleydad a few days ago that if I had a dime for every time a mover told me something would be fine and then it got damaged, I'd be rich. At least the motorcycle came through without a scratch.

Yep, vacuum broke, too. We might be able to find a part for it at Sears since it's a Kenmore. We don't want to replace it b/c we're getting central vacuuming in the new house.

I remember when we moved to the Lake Constance and our new neighbors moved in a couple of months later. Our neighbor asked if she could use our machine as hers wasn't there yet (or whatever reason, I don't remember). Anyway. Our machine died on her while she was using it. I came home from school and the fire department was there drying out our basement. Our neighbor felt so bad. But it wasn't her fault as it was a really really old washing machine

Bewitched on DVD? Hmmmm . . . I own nothing on DVD or any such vehicle. Rarely watch TV and I can't remember the last time I rented a movie. Ah but I heard you and MissH talking about bookstores. Now those are dangerous places for me. My favorite one is just a block from where I work. Needless to say, they all know me by name.

You did it! Endora is in the house!!! :rofl: I got Season 1 for Christmas and it was my favorite present! The color is mostly okay except for an episode where Endora's hair is the color of Cheez Whiz. But they didn't need to do that. The characters, especially Mrs. Kravitz and Darrin's parents are much more well-rounded characters than they were in later episodes.

And I fell in love with Aunt Clara all over again. :loveya:

We found out my grandmother has liver cancer, which some sort of cancer was expected so it's no surprise or anything. But it's still sad.

But she's taking it fairly well, being her usual ornery self. She said it's pissing her off to have so many people doting on her. :)

The poor girl. Cancer is NO good. I'm sure she's not used to having so many people doting on her, but she'll get used to it. I wish you and your family and especially your grandmother, the best! :hug:

One time, when I first moved to Seattle in the fall of 1999, I was walking along and decided to check out this store. I strolled in and was looking at coats, as I figured I better get one sometime soon, since I only brought a thin windbreaker with me when I moved. I saw this one coat and I thought, "hmmm.... I wouldn't mind getting something like this." Well, I checked the price. It was like 10, 000 dollars! I slowly backed away like that thing had the plague! I was scared to even breathe on it wrong, just in case I screwed it up and they made me buy it, haha. Needless to say that was out of my price range. :) Just ridiculous though.
