I got the foster Pitbull tonight!

He's so cute! He's a light tan brindle with a blaze of white on his face and white paws. Pictures will be forthcoming once I have some batteries for the camera. He's staying in the garage tonight. Tommorow, I'll see how he does with the cats. Allegedly, he's good with cats, but I want to have a very careful introduction. I'm calling him Lucky.

He absolutely loves people. The second Lucky saw me he came running over and started licking my face. He seems to know he's in a safe place right now. Pretty well-behaved and I was shocked at how well he handled the car ride.

It's so digusting how his owners just left him chained up in the backyard after they were evicted. Even though he probably wasn't getting much food for the week he was outside (neighborhood kids were climbing the fence & feeding him), he shows no food aggression at all. He was fine with me moving his bowl while eating and petting him while eating. That is a VERY good sign.

He went from being chained up in a concrete yard to getting to run around in my yard (two acres).

A lack of food aggression is wonderful. Hopefully that means he'll be fit for a home.

He even let me check his teeth. His tail never stops wagging. He hasn't started whining or anything being left in the garage, just curled up against the door leading into the house sleeping. He walks pretty well on a leash too. He'll pull but with a light jerk, he'll stop pulling.

I don't see how this dog couldn't be fit for a home.

It is so hard to see all the hundreds of emails I get every day from rescuers, fosters and people who just care about animals, all needing help with the most sad cases of abuse and neglect.

Not only was the human responsible for these dogs a monster, but the authorities in the area are trying to sweep the whole thing under the rug. Can't even get any help from the State Attorney General.
