19. Marry the cat, keep the dog on the side.
If you play your cards right, they'll become good friends and double your enjoyment. :)

If it's a serious question (and not just an excuse to make us all go "awwwww!!" at the cuteness) cats are easier pets. They are self-training, you don't have to walk them, etc. Dogs are worth the trouble, of course, but if it's your first, it will alter your life pattern a bit more.

Other than that... Awwwwww!!!!!!

24. Cats and dogs are both great. They each have their own benefits.
But dogs, especially puppies, are a *ton* of work. You have to be prepared for that if you get a dog.
