Ho, ho, hold on! A Somerville woman is accused of ramming two patrons at a Christmas Tree Shop in a fit of anger after they parked in a handicapped spot.
But store employees had suggested they park there to begin with to load an item, police said.
That didn’t stop Jeanne Walsh, 46, of Somerville from attempting to run down a woman outside the store using her hulking SUV, police said.
Her road rage has resulted in charges of attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and negligent operation of a vehicle.
Police said Walsh slammed her SUV into the 34-year-old woman while attempting to stop the victim’s husband from backing his car out of a parking spot at the store.
But as the couple prepared to leave the lot Sunday, police said Walsh pulled up beside their car and began cursing at the couple for parking in a handicapped space.
Walsh blocked them in and then allegedly attempted to run the wife down after she jumped out to confront the woman.
Police said Walsh hit the gas and hit the pedestrian in the back of her legs with the SUV. The victim’s husband then jumped out of the Nissan and yelled at Walsh to stop, but Walsh again hit the victim in the leg with the front bumper of her SUV, police said.
Walsh was arrested and spent Sunday night in jail. The victim suffered minor injuries.
