I just got a great new job

I think I'm going to be able to keep this one. Starting pay is the same that I'm making now, but after a year I get a 10% increase in pay. That's good, but it's not the best part. They are a union company and they pay for your health insurance premiums and they have a pension. That is rare for a trucking company now days. I will be driving long haul, but I get to stay in a hotel room every night paid for by the company. The more I look at them the better they sound. For the past 5 years I've wanted to get on with a union company. I applied at all of them in my area (3 I think) and didn't hear back from anybody. I applied at the company that I just got the job from 2 weeks ago and didn't expect to hear from them, but they came through.

A weird thing is that I got an offer earlier in the day from a company that would have given me a little better pay than what I currently make, but would have been basically the same type of operation that I work in now. Something told me to hold off and I told them I would give them an answer by the end of the day. It's strange how things work out sometimes.
