3. I was just listening to a Nesmith solo show from 1992 today!
The man is a spectacular songwriter. Back in the day, they had some of the best folks writing for them, and they wrote some fine material of their own as well. "Headquarters" and "Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Jones" are amazing albums.

4. Those are my two fave Monkees albums
People give them a hard time to this day for allegedly not playing their own instruments...Given the dreck that passes for music now, and the fact that Led Zepplin songs are used to sell cars, that canard does not hold water.

I doubt few musicians could have kept their schedule of doing a TV show and becoming a band in their off time.

The Monkeethon just played something Nesmith did recently..it was instrumental and rather spacey. I liked it.
