Anyone ever been to the source of a bottled water spring?
When I was in Latvia in April, we went to visit relatives who lived a mile from a large spring that bottles water on site. It was an amazing place. There were seven springs on the side of a hill surrounded by tall pine trees. The inside of the spring bed was lined with large boulders, dozens and dozens, and ancient steps made from rock boulders went down to the springs. No one knows exactly who laid the rocks but they figure it was done hundreds of years ago.

It was a cold spring day, and the whole area was bathed in a foggy mist.

And of course the water was delicious. People were coming with large containers and bottles to collect their catch. It was quite an experience.

1. Springs come out of the ground everywhere where I grew up.
My home town tap water was pure ice cold spring water. I think it was ranked top .001% of all town water in America. Plus there are all sorts of roadside springs with little wooden huts over them by the side of the road, and there's always some local pulled over filling up.

Now I have crappy city water. Ung.

2. Manitou Springs used to bottle their water, but no more.
They just let people collect it now.

I live in the Rockies. All of our water is either snow melt or spring. Low pollutants, too, since we're at the top of the water stack. Downside is that we have very few reserves.
