My scientific paper has been accepted to a major med. journal
I did it. Eleven years of work, eight after my son died. I described a new model of the pathenogenesis of cystic fibrosis.

I am sure it's well deserved after all of those years of hard work!

Regarding the medical stuff...

I'm sorry about your son, I am sure he would have been proud.

4. I have been crying....I wish my son were here to benefit.
You know, it hurts to come this far without him being able to benefit from this. I like to think, though, that he is somewhere in Heaven, looking down at me and saying, "Good job, Mom!"

9. You have some comfort in our words here on the DU.
Any progress you can make will help others, even though it could not help your son.

In peace,

Radio_Lady

11. Every child with this disease is your child now...
I'm sorry he suffered; and yet this wonderful work you've done was a result of it.

Bless you for drawing something so positive from such a painful experience. You inspire me!:hug::hug:

10. Congratulations!
I'm a science-type myself. Do you mind if I ask which journal? I'm the primary author on two manuscripts so far: one in Infection and Immunity and one in FEMS Medical Microbiology.
