I'm the most macho straight woman I know! I changed a tire today!
I have AAA and could have called for a man to do it, but I decided to make an attempt first. It was done in 30 minutes--how cool is that??

I've built a ton of Ikea furniture, it felt just like that. Any other "girls" out there change their own tires or their own oil?

1. Nice work!
I made a panicked face until someone helped with jumper cables and paid someone to change my battery today. That counts, right?

But, I have changed tires (solo) and brakes (with guidance) before.

3. I can change tires and my dad taught me to change the oil
before I was allowed to drive. It's a good skill to have.

5. I am an even more macho straight woman.
I've changed the oil in an airplane, replaced a starter solenoid in my car, AND assembled a bunch of Ikea furniture.

14. sure, you can even start your car that way
with a screwdriver

P.S. "toughest" part is remembering to disconnect battery...

7. Used to before I became disabled.
In fact, I once changed a tire for a "Barbie-doll" who blew a tire on the freeway in front of me. She was soooooo helpless.

9. Straight woman with balls...
Good for you! Never ask a man to do what you can do for
yourself. There may not always be a man around, so get your
own tools and learn to fix things. If you think you aren’t
strong enough, figure out a “girlie” way to do it.

10. I've changed my own tire, but not my own oil.

I replaced the battery once, and a bunch of fuses.

I've built a ton of Ikea furniture, too. I love that stuff. :P

11. I changed my car battery a few months ago.
My car died at work. My male co-workers came out to watch me do it. Fortunately, my good friend had told me how to do it the night before. His wife has the exact same car, so the directions were pretty specific. Nonetheless, it was an awesome feeling!

15. My Sweetie builds stuff.
When we were first dating I was making a book shelf and she kept offering to help. I declined until I realized she wanted to do it. She was ripping through those boards with a hand saw faster than I was.
