I had to give it up. I don't even like Myazaki anymore.

Full Metal Alchemist was my favorite, but I got sick of it after one season. I'd have to say Ghost in a Shell is my current favorite.

The best anime I ever saw...was KINO'S JOURNEY...it actually made me cry.

but I can't watch the reruns anymore. Ed's whiny voice gets to me after awhile.

His Japanese voice actor (Actress, actually), is much better and much nicer to listen to :)

Sorry, but when I think Anime I think total nerds walking around with bad fitting jeans and dirty old shoes and one of those big satin button-up short sleeve Anime shirts with like Anime girls and Anime dragons on them.

It's just not cool, in my circles.

I have to give you props for putting an image from "Project Ako" in your thread. Definitely a favorite.

Anyway, I first became familiar with anime when I was stationed at Ft. Bragg back in '92. I had some friends who were really into it. Back then the only anime people were familiar with was "Robotech" (Macross, Southern Cross, Mespeda (sp?)), "Speed Racer" (Mach Go Go Go), and "Voltron". But these guys had "Dragonball Z" and the original "Gundam" series. And they weren't even subtitled or dubbed. We didn't have a fucking clue what was going on but it sure did look cool.

Fast forward to today and you've got anime all over Cartoon Network. Only problem is that it's so heavily edited for American tv that it now sucks. They need an unedited anime channel or something.

And in conclusion the best anime ever is "Fist of the North Star"!!
