Do ya know me? I'm a 'DU writer'
Most of the political writing I've done in my life has originated here. I don't get paid, but I have a platform (thanks to Rob Kall at OpEdNews.com).

The bulk of my articles barely get a response here. A couple caught fire, but when I publish here they usually fall, several times, after I self-kick em.

I've been struggling with whether to keep publishing them here, the silence hurts and time promoting them here seems wasted. It can run into a couple of hours. So I want to ask . . .

Is it worth it to slog on the same, or no?

I used to work as a columnist, had some essays published in a few mags etc. I just don't do that stuff on DU. They drop. Even my short fiction, which is what I am best at, seems to drop and I have had a book out before. So I don't know what to tell you about posting and promoting around here. But whatever you do keep writing!

6. You know, I joined up on that site, they just published my latest essay
It's the same one from the DU homepage touched up a little. I figured I would just submit it for fun. :)

I've got you in my DU Journal Tracker, and I've put you on the homepage a number of times.

You might try posting in the Editorials & Other Articles forum. People who visit that forum are readers. I find that too many people in GD don't have the patience to read long-form pieces -- they just want to chat.

don't write for us, write for the words. love the words and the appreciation will come. your job is to get the stuff out there. the words will take care of the rest.
