I don't understand why anyone would force themselves to watch something that mentally and emotionally disturbed them so much. One might think after the first time you vomited it would be a clue that you shouldn't watch anymore? Or even the 2nd time.

Why torment yourself by watching an intentionally gruesome propaganda film like that? Unless it was some sort of required rite-of-passage--like a fraternity hazing dare, and 'drinking-till-you-barf' games--I just don't get it. For bragging rights, perhaps?

What was actually accomplished by putting yourself through that?

Primarily I wanted to be able to weigh in the next time it was being discussed. Secondarily, I felt that knowing more would both inform and fuel my activism. My tertiary motivation was a feeling that what animals can endure at human hands, I have no right to turn away from. Willful ignorance is complicity.
