7. It's going well, although I'm running out of excuses to put off
mowing the lawn. It's cool, but not cold, and overcast, but not raining. My wife's gonna be pissed when she gets home and finds it not done.

10. Ever since I found DU in 2001,
I've lost more hours sitting in front of the computer monitor. The time just melts away when I'm DU-ing.

5. Every time I think I'm running out of material for good quotes,
I re-examine my Shakespeare and find out the material is almost inexhaustible!

I could do this for years. O8)

16. Incredibly accurate!

It's as if Will knew Bush & Co. personally.
It just goes to show that history does repeat itself.

Thanks, Aristus.:D

17. Well, Shakespeare was uniquely positioned to comment on
political happenings of his day in a way that still sounds relevant in ours. Elizabeth I was a powerful monarch whose essential benevolence to the common people of England didn't preclude them from flattering and appeasing her; it was still important to hold your tongue on political matters. Elizabeth's grandfather, Henry VII, deposed the previous king, Richard III. Richard was far from the monster portrayed in the eponymous Shakespeare play. He was a brave warrior, a brilliant administrator and a loving husband. But because he was the enemy of the Tudor family, Shakespeare had to portray him as the twisted, crippled murderer we think of today, in order to stay within the graces of Elizabeth and the censors.
Conversely, Henry VIII, for all of his talent, education and ambition, was still a bellowing, bloated, petty, egotistical tyrant. But to portray him as such with Henry's daughter looking on would have been suicidal.
