My favorite? Suede's Metal Mickey.

I listened to that for days at a time.

2. I have never gotten either MTV or VH1
Wasn't the 90s when all the videos went to 7734?

I see so many videos which are nothing more than either a) bizarre special effects or b) various shots of the band in concert or in a studio.

My favorite spoof was the SNL skit "Look at our video" by The Garage Band.

3. Most of the popular ones were crap.
There were many alternative bands in the early 90's who still used videos as a form of art.

This version is poorly digitized, or maybe my connection is crap tonight.

Dennis, the singer, has done a couple other projects since (The Lost Patrol and The (International) Noise Conspiracy) both of which are awesome. Check out The Lost Patrol's "Songs In The Key Of Resistance" if you can find it. All acoutic-based stuff, very different from Refused, but in my opinion equally amazing. There was also a documentary released on dvd a couple weeks back about the implosion of the band during their final tour which is pretty neat as well. Deatures interviews and live performances, really good stuff. It's called "Refused Are Fucking Dead" (after my personal favourite song from "The Shape Of Punk To Come" haha.

I loved that tune. The rest of the album was pretty much shite, but it's a nice little ditty.

around 1989-1990. I was 14, maybe newly 15 when I heard Head Like a Hole.

I've never gone back.

His style has changed over time but he's older now. Maybe it is hit and miss but I'd have less respect for him if he didn't try to mix things up.

And he's the type to try something new or not at all, hence the average of five years' wait between each release.

BTW-As a thirtysomething I can appreciate his fortysomething hotness. I can't help it. If there's mention of Trent anywhere on here I'm usually posting about how hot he is. Everything else he does is just gravy.

No link becase I couldn't find it on YouTube.

It was a very early 70's, "Beat Club" style video with swirling psychedelic graphics in the background, the extreme zoom camera effect, and they performed on a stage in the form of a large red velvet cross. Fun video to watch while, um, gardening...
