I lost an ENTIRE day this weekend.
Edited on Sun Jun-11-06 06:12 AM by MrsGrumpy
I woke up with a splitting, thumping migrain yesterday. Usually I can function somewhat, and at least get a few things done. Not yesterday. I went back to be with a cold washrag and a queasy tummy...not to mention my family's ire.

And *Blip* Day...gone. I hate that.

On the plus side, I got up at 3 AM and did quite a few "housetype" things. All is okay. MrG layed an entire new floor in the laundry room. Crazy.

:hi:

6. You have my sympathy...
I lost yesterday, too.

About mid-day I got a back ache on my lower left side. Muscles, I'm pretty sure.
As long as I was very still flat on my back. I was okay. Bored, but, okay.

Migraines tho... Are the PITS!

Yick!

Hope you fare better today!

7. I'm really sorry about your yesterday MrsG!

I haven't had a migraine in a while but I do remember how sick they made me feel.

I'm glad you're better today. Do you have any idea about what triggered it?

18. Probably a glass of cherry wine the night before.
It was horrid because my daughter was cleaning the bathrooms and I could not stand the smell of the cleanser. blech. I'm better now though. :) :hug;

26. Treat yourself to a better bottle of wine! Okay?

Enjoying yourself shouldn't give you a headache. Perhaps the fumes of the cleaner was really the culprit.

$50 a bottle, was a birthday treat, and is very good. Wine can set off migraines in me. :)

32. You might want to avoid red wines.

You could try an organic red.

I didn't mean to imply that the cherry wine was of poor quality. It just isn't the right wine for your body. Sorry.

I hope to see you! That would be great. I'm going to call PF and see if she's up for it with her mind numbing schedule. :)

12. My partner gets migraines
I get bad headaches, but I learned what a migraine is from my partner. If you don't get migraines, next time you have a headache, rest your head on a bag of ice. I bet you won't be able to stand it for more than a minute or so. When my partner gets a migraine, he lies in bed for hours resting his head on the bag of ice. So, MrsGrumpy, my sympathies are with you. You must be so happy it's over.

23. I was willing to sell my soul for it to be over.
I laid in the bedroom with a pack of ice on my occipital bone (because it always feels like it is swollen when I have a migrain) and a wet rag over my eyes...and tried not to move. Today, I am a grateful girl! :D :hi:

27. No, not a cold washrag; wet heat! You can buy wraps in the stores
that contain a gel that you can nuke or boil that will stay warm for hours... you can also wet them... they are GREAT for those migraines....

When my head swells out the back like that and the light starts blinding me all I want is a bag of ice. :hi:

28. migraines suck.
i've wasted a lot of days in similar fashion over the past year.

my dr gave me a script for vicoprofen...a couple of those, and a couple hours in a dark quiet room usually do the trick.
