The police roadblock that wasn't
One of the biggest churches in Fayetteville is on my way home.

This afternoon, there was a police car sitting in the middle of the road right in front of the church with its lights running. The two officers were out of the car walking around with their reflector vests on. On a Sunday? Unless there's been some kind of really heinous crime, they normally don't run roadblocks in the middle of the day.

And one car? That's strange too.

I got closer and noticed that both of these guys had really weird embarrassed expressions on their faces and they weren't actually stopping anyone, so I pulled over. Turns out they broke a timing belt while they were trying to turn into the church parking lot. Oops.

I helped them push their car out of the road. Being stalled in the turning lane in this town gets you killed.
