This is why I don't like watching World Cup Soccer... Dives.
It's happened over and over in the games I've watched. Two players go for the ball and one falls to the ground, grabs his leg and writhes in faux pain. Bullshit! These guys are in prime shape and tough as nails. Most of these falls are dives and would be penalized in other games, like hockey. The falls in practically every other extreme sport are much more violent and those guys usually get right up and brush it off.

To make it worse when they don't get a call they usually get up, spread their arms and whine to the refs. I swear if it worked, they would start crying to get the call.

I know that not every fall is a dive, but it's rare. Make a "dive rule" and I'd be much more willing to watch. Maybe they already have one, but it doesn't seem to be enforced.

I might be totally off base here, educate me.

1. Ahhh...the same thing happens in football when the QB (namely Brett
Favre)throws an interception, and I LOVE football...and soccer too. Deflect the mistake by having an "injury" happens in all sports. :hi:

2. I reckon it ought to be a rule that
when any player dives, all the opposing side get to beat him up.

3. Sometimes they take a dive to slow the game down.
It also gives the players a very short rest!

4. to be fair
FIFA is trying to crack down on both the diving and the whining. Diving is much less frequent than it used to be (and can get you a yellow card) and you might notice that a Czech player got a yellow for whining.

6. Right it can be penalized now
So the original poster should really just stop whining and get up and get back in the game for crying out loud
