Paint question: Flat or Semi-Gloss Finish on crown moulding?
I'm buying paint today... I had some mouldings put around my windows and on the walls (crown moulding). I'm doing the painting.

I know to use semi-gloss on the window and doors/frames but not sure what to do with the crown moulding. The ceiling is painted a flat white. What paint finish is used typically there? Any painters in the house?

I want the mouldings to be the same color as the ceiling, just not sure about the finish. Anybody?

thanks.

1. Semi or gloss
I wouldn't use flat on any molding.

5. thanks
that makes sense. They're pre-primed MDF. I used a linen white (ceiling) instead of a white-white.

2. Cut eggshell and semi half and half. Gives a warm glow w/o the shine .

3. thank you
is that something you have done before? I was afraid semi-gloss might look too shiny up at the ceiling.

My walls are an eggshell finish.

I'm pissed I didn't pre-paint....
