The official "Learn how to ride a bike you Jackass" thread
Edited on Mon Jun-12-06 05:16 PM by sasquatch
Ben Roethliberger just went head first through the windsheild of a car in a motorcycle accident that was not only his fault, but he did it while not wearing a helmet as well(Nice message your sending to the kids that wear Black and Gold there Ben). I won't say get well, but instead I'll say learn how to ride a bike you Jackass.

3. Perhaps Chris Henry shouldn't be drinking while driving
Ben made a mistake. Shame really if the same thing had happened to Palmer, I'd be hoping for the best for him.

right into Palmer's knee.

18. Actually I did feel bad
It would have been better if Palmer had played that whole game.

8. His fault?
From the police statement:

"The city's Collision Investigation Unit is continuing to look into the crash that sent Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to the hospital with multiple injuries, including a broken jaw and two sprained knees.

In a statement, Pittsburgh Police report the driver, a 62-year-old woman, was driving west in a Chrysler New Yorker on Second Avenue and made a left hand turn, crossing into the eastbound lanes.

Roethlisberger, riding his 2005 Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle was heading east and collided with the car.

He was not wearing a helmet.

Police say it could take several weeks to complete the investigation.

So far, no charges have been filed in the case."

I don't ride, but it doesn't seem so cut and dried as to fault here.

Oh, and "child raping Steeler" though now removed, was a nice touch.

:sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

That's because he's a Steeler and it happened in Pittsburgh. If it was you and me they be stitching us up while we were handcuffed to the hosptal bed so we couldn't escape because we were being charged with reckless operation of a motorcycle.

your judgement - a little bit? Would you be saying the same things if it was a Bengals player?

Just curious.

19. Seems like
all things considered, no violation of a traffic device nor speed, that one making a left turn would be violating the right of way of the vehicle going straight.

Correct me if I'm wrong, k?

9. If I owned a football team, every player's contract would have a clause
saying that they can't ride a motorcycle.

No matter HOW good of a rider you are, if a car driver fucks up, you lose.

10. I think a lot of them do.
From what I understand, many pro teams forbid their players from riding while employed by the team.

14. That's fair. for the $$ they get paid, no skydiving either.
I'd certainly be willing to go without stuff like skiing and motorcycles, to make that kind of money.

21. Absolutely
You would think that NFL GM's, HC's, and owners would've learned this lesson after what happened to Kellen Winslow,Jr. on his bike.

22. i think they did
but they may not have been able to retroactively insert that in the contracts. i heard BR had 'no riding during the season' in his.

24 & (official-abbetted) superbowl champ QB - what does he think he is, invincible?

23. Rothlisberger is a stupid idiot
He was warned about riding a motorcycle. AND he was riding in Pittsburgh rush hour traffic, WITHOUT a helmet fergodsake. The franchise player making millions of dollars let his team down. He should be beaten severely if he makes it out of this without doing harm to himself and everyone else he flipped off with his behavior.

This is the talk of the town here in Pittsburgh. Most people are pissed.

24. BTW a lady turned into him
She was making a left hand turn and Ben was driving through the intersection at the time. I imagine there will be no fault put on anyone here, as far as the accident is concerned.

25. Rush hour is not 11 am
which is when the accident occurred.

And while I think it is pretty stupid to ride without a helmet, shall we take that up with the politicians who repealed the helmet law?

Surely they should have as much sense as we're expecting from a 24 year old kid who people treat like a freaking god.
