I loved it.

Somehow can't see Einem (sp) doing this. Can't really imagine anyone but Richard Boone in that role.

1. I never saw it, but I heard they might film the movie in Detroit
That would be good. I liked "8 Mile" even though I despise Marshall and his so-called music. The director of the movie had a real eye for the city, good and bad, and I thought he did a good job capturing Detroit on film.

2. I guess no one else even remembers. I am getting too old.
It was a western.

I was just a little kid when we watched it. In black and white, of course.

Have gun, will travel reads the card of a man. A knight without armor in a savage land. A soldier of fortune is a man called-Palladin.

Wire Palladin, San Francisco. (so was that his first name, or a request for communication?)

5. I still get that song going thru my head.
It was a great theme song.

The westerns back then all had really great theme songs.

Remember Rawhid by Frankie Lane?

8. How well I remember it!
That was back in the days when my husband and I still watched TV!

It was a terrific story, too.....

He had so much class......

I gather they're making a movie? Is nothing sacred?

10. I heard M&M is doing it. Why why why...
Apart from the fact that

1. It's a remake
2. He's a celebrity (not an actor, a celebrity) and that people will spend money to look at a celebrity, regardless of how inane or untalented he may be

17. So, basically, it's just the same title and the rest is different.
I don't like to even see them use that title and name. It's heresy.

11. Ballad of Paladin...
Have Gun Will Travel reads the card of a man.
A knight without armor in a savage land.

His fast gun for hire heeds the calling wind.
A soldier of fortune is the man called Paladin.

Paladin, Paladin Where do you roam?
Paladin, Paladin, Far, far from home.

He travels on to wherever he must
A chess knight of silver is his badge of trust

There are campfire legends that the trailmen spin
Of the man with the gun
Of the man called Paladin

Paladin Paladin Where do you roam?
Paladin Paladin Far, far from home
Far from home. Far from home.

15. Congrats. You're the only one to get the original lyrics. I got first ...

verse from memory but missed the second.

I also got the Roy Rogers and Paladin gun
and holster set for Christmas when I was a
kid.

No I don't still own them.

The Paladin gun set could, in the package,
buy a BMW these days. A good used BMW anyway.

13. My hobby back then was collecting the songs from westerns.
Here is another one of my favorites:

Who is the tall, dark stranger there?

Maverick is the name.

Ridin’ the trail to who knows where,

Luck is his companion. Gamblin’ is his game.

Smooth as the handle on a gun.

Maverick is the name.

Wild as the wind in Oregon,

Blowin’ up a canyon, easier to tame.

Riverboat, ring your bell. Fare thee well, Annabel.

Luck is the lady that he loves the best.

Natchez to New Orleans. Livin' on jacks and queens

Maverick is a legend of the west.

Riverboat, ring your bell. Fare thee well, Annabel.

Luck is the lady that he loves the best.

Natchez to New Orleans. Livin' on jacks and queens

Maverick is a legend of the west.

Maverick is a legend of the west.

Too many dusty trail towns

Too few and far between

Tired saloons and sawdust-covered floors

Too many one-more-showdowns

And aces over queens

Winning's just a way of keepin' score.

My old Pappy always told me

Your fate is in your hands

Stand pat or draw - it's yours to choose

Luck don't have a thing to do

With how you play the game

Maverick didn't come here to loose.

Maverick didn't come here to loose.

Maverick didn't come here to loose.

14. OK, this is the last one, I promise...
Cheyenne, Cheyenne where will you be camping tonight?
Lonely man, Cheyenne, will your heart stay free and light?
Dream Cheyenne of a girl you may never love
Move along, Cheyenne like the restless cloud up above.

The wind that blows, that comes and goes, has been your only home.
But will the wild wind one day cease and you’ll no longer roam?
Move along, Cheyenne the next pasture’s always so green.
Driftin’ on, Cheyenne don’t forget the things you have seen,
And when you settle down where will it be Cheyenne.
Cheyenne!

Oh, I'll be singing all night now!!!
